Aider is the coding agent that operators read before they trust. The whole thing is a Python program, the prompts are in the repo, and the git workflow is exposed. It does not have a flashy UI; it makes commits. For engineers who would rather pipe to a tool than depend on a SaaS, Aider remains the reference implementation.
