Affiliate, sponsorship, and editorial policy
What we accept, what we don't, and how to tell the difference on any page.
Affiliate relationships
Some outbound links to commercial providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Cursor, Perplexity) include affiliate tracking. Click-through earns the Almanac a small commission at no cost to the visitor. Every affiliate link is rendered inside a labelled "Partner offer" card. Plain in-text links never carry tracking parameters.
Sponsored placements
Sponsored cards in sidebars and newsletter slots are clearly marked. Sponsorships do not affect model reviews or operator guides. See /advertise for terms.
Paid services
The audit service at /audit is the editor's primary revenue stream. Audits are billed on accepted scope before work begins.
Digital products
Products at /shop are sold via Gumroad as merchant of record. The Almanac is the seller. Refunds within 14 days, full refund.
What we do not accept
- Paid editorial — under no circumstances.
- Equity in companies whose products are reviewed.
- Guest posts with embedded links.
- Sponsor influence over the order or content of any review.
Conflicts of interest
The editor maintains personal API accounts with multiple frontier providers for testing. Pricing tier details are disclosed in agent profiles. The editor accepts free trial credits offered to operators publicly; no comp credits given as inducement to favourable coverage are accepted.
