Amazon Bedrock launched in September 2023 as AWS's answer to the question of how enterprise customers could access frontier models without their data leaving AWS infrastructure. The product is a broker: it provides access to models from Anthropic, Meta, Cohere, Mistral, and others through a unified API, inside the customer's VPC with standard AWS IAM controls.
