Sonnet 4.6 is what you reach for when Opus is too slow and Haiku is too thin. It runs every interactive Claude product and most coding agents that aren't pushing the frontier. The version-4.6 generation introduced reliable JSON schema adherence and a markedly better refusal-quality curve.
